Population Growth
The Population Strategy, a pillar of the Community Growth Strategy for the Greater Fredericton Region, is focused on human resource capacity building and investment. Human resource capacity building includes successful recruitment, settlement and retention of immigrants.
This region has experienced some success with immigration over the years as a result of immigrant family/friends and ethno cultural supports in the community, in particular through the efforts of the Multicultural Association of Fredericton (MCAF). A concerted, long-term regional economic immigration strategy has been missing.
Enterprise Fredericton has embarked on the Tri-Region Immigration Traction Project with Enterprise Saint John and Enterprise Greater Moncton to address issues surrounding immigration in New Brunswick.
